Mindfulness Training and Yoga Retreat in Greece

Set in a beautiful valley in Crete, with stunning views of the rolling hills, this retreat is ideal to clear your head, get away from things for a while and uplift yourself. Enjoy a morning stretch with some simple yoga exercises, tuck into a nutritious and energising brunch, and following a walk, visit to a nearby beach or some reading, learn and practice mindfulness meditation. All activities are optional, so if you feel you need a break, that’s fine. I can’t think of a better way to rest and rejuvenate for a week in October with two experienced mindfulness and yoga teachers.

Description: 1 week retreat/training combining mindfulness (MBSR and MBCT) by Shamash Alidina, Author of Mindfulness For Dummies, together with Yoga with Garry Boon, Advanced Hatha Yoga Teacher.

Rough outline of daily schedule:

8am – 9.30am – Morning Yoga (optional)

10.30am – Delicious healthy vegetarian brunch

12pm – 3.30pm – Free time to explore or relax. Opportunity to book one to one mindfulness or yoga if you wish.

3.30pm – 5.30pm – Daily Mindfulness Training

6pm – Vegetarian Dinner (apart from on the 2 nights we eat out)

8pm – Optional discussion/movie/evening walk/lecture

Timings:

Arrive in morning or afternoon of Sunday 16th October 2011.

Leave on morning of Saturday 22nd October 2011.

What’s included: Brunch and Dinner on most days, Accommodation, Professional Mindfulness and Yoga Course.

What’s not included: A couple of dinners so we can all visit a local restaurant. Transport to and from venue and flights to Crete are not included. Please get in touch with us if you have any questions about this. At time of writing, a return from London to Crete was £150. I used skyscanner.net to find a good deal.

Accommodation: You will be staying at one of three villas which are side by side. Each villa has one double room and one twin room. We shall have about 12-15 people on the retreat, with a minimum of about 8 participants.

Transport: The closest Airport is Chania airport which is less than half an hour away. We plan to offer a group pickup from the airport in the afternoon. As with all retreats run abroad, wwe recommend you don’t book flights to Crete until the retreat is confirmed  by mid-September. We refund the fee you pay us if we cancel the retreat for any reason, but we don’t refund your flights or other expenses of course.

Benefits: Mindfulness is about cultivating an inner and outer awareness. This awareness is suffused with a sense of kindness, warmth, curiosity and acceptance. Certificate: You receive a certificate stating ‘You have completed a 7 day Mindfulness Training Retreat with Yoga combining Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction and Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy.’

Cancellation policy:

If you cancel by 31st September, you only pay £100 cancellation fee and receive rest of your money back. Cancelling after 31st September incurs 90% of fee paid. Your place is transferrable and you can pass on your place to a friend of yours.
