Location: Tres Health and Wellbeing, Chelsea, London
Date: 24th September 2011 from 10am-4pm
Learn mindfulness in one day. This workshop is designed for those who are new to mindfulness and would like to know what mindfulness means and learn how to practise it. It may also be helpful for people who have completed a mindfulness-based course and would like the chance to re-connect with other mindfulness enthusiasts and the opportunity to do some mindfulness practice. This is a suitable workshop for cialas the general public, therapists, coaches and others who would like to be introduced to mindfulness.
Content of Day
The day will be balanced between discussion around the concept of mindfulness, and extended guided mindfulness exercises. We will do some mindful eating (raisin exercise), body scan, mindful sitting, mindful movement and perhaps some mindful walking if there’s time. There will be lots of opportunity to discuss personal experience of mindfulness with others within the group. Emphasis will be on mindfulness practice rather than excessive theoretical discussion of how mindfulness may work. Wear loose, comfortable, warm clothing. Please bring some lunch with you or purchase locally.
The day will be lead by Shamash Alidina, Author of ‘Mindfulness For Dummies’. He takes a gentle, welcoming approach, so if you’ve not done anything like this before, don’t worry.
